GW26-e1539 Association of abnormal uric acid metabolism and atrial fibrillation in patients with essential hypertension

چکیده
RESULTS Participants with elevated ALT had higher levels of almost all cardiometabolic risk factors than other participants. Among individuals with elevated ALT, the weight, height, WC, and BMI, which were indicators for general and abdominal obesity, were significantly higher than those with normal ALT. The difference was not significant for the race, current smoking or physical activity. In other cardiometabolic risk factors, such as SBP, DBP, FPG, TC, TG, LDL-C, and serum uric acid, were all strongly higher in elevated ALT group than normal ALT group. The logistic regression analysis revealed that male sex, younger age, and presence of high TC, high TG, low HDL-C, current smoking status, BMI above 25 kg/m, abdominal obesity, hyperuricemia, and HtgW phenotype were significantly associated with elevated ALT level. Sex-related differences were also discussed. For the male, hypertension (OR 1.33, 95% CI 1.08-1.62), high TC (OR 1.63, 95% CI 1.23-2.17), high TG (OR 1.62, 95% CI 1.25-2.09), BMI above 25 kg/m (OR 1.52, 95% CI 1.07-2.18), and hyperuricemia (OR 1.92, 95% CI 1.52-2.40) were statistically related to an elevated serum ALT, but this was not so for the female.

Uric acid elevation in atrial fibrillation.
INTRODUCTION Uric acid is a cardiovascular risk marker associated with oxidative stress and inflammation. Recently, atrial fibrillation (AF) has been associated with inflammation and oxidative stress. We therefore investigated the association between AF and uric acid levels. METHODS Consecutive patients with AF and healthy control subjects were screened. Demographic, clinical, and echocardiog...

OBJECTIVE Uric acid (UA) is a cardiovascular risk marker associated with oxidative stress and inflammation. Recently, atrial fibrillation (AF) has been associated with inflammation and oxidative stress. The objective of this observational study was to investigate the association between UA levels and AF in hypertensive patients. METHODS Consecutive patients with hypertension were screened. We...
متن کاملInvestigating the Effect of Inflammation on Atrial Fibrillation Occurrence by Measuring Highly Sensitive C-reactive Protein (hs-CRP)
Introduction: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most prevalent cardiac arrhythmias that cardiologists and internists encounter. The goal of this article is to clarify an overview of the evidence linking inflammation to AF existence, which may highlight the effect of some pharmacological agents that have genuine potential to reduce the clinical burden of AF by modulating inflammatory pathways. Mat...
متن کاملArrhythmias in Patients With Pulmonary Hypertension; A Narrative Review of the Current Literature
Incidence and prognostic relevance of supraventricular arrhythmias were evaluated in nine studies. These studies investigated patients with different forms of pulmonary hypertension. Supraventricular arrhythmias were more often found in patients with group two pulmonary hypertension. Common findings in these patients were elevated right atrial pressure and diameters and reduced tricuspid annula...
متن کاملاسید آسکوربیک خوراکی به همراه بتا بلوکرها روشی موثر برای کاهش فیبریلاسیون دهلیزی به دنبال عمل جراحی بای پس عروق کرونر
Background: Adrenergic beta antagonists are not sufficient to prevent atrial fibrillation after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG). This study was designed to evaluate the effect of ascorbic acid as an adjunct to beta-blockers in prevention of post-CABG atrial fibrillation Methods: Patients who were more than 50 years old and scheduled to undergo CABG were included if they were treated with b...
